I love pasta! There are so many ways to cook with pasta and it is always a favourite with my kids. When I heard of SlimPasta, I was interested to find out more.

Slim Pasta say: a great substitute for pasta and noodle and easy to incorporate into your current lifestyle. SlimPasta makes you feel full for longer without adding a lot of calories. SlimPasta is naturally made of a vegetable called Konjac which produces a high fibre (called gulcomannan) that is a low calorie and low carbohydrate food. SlimPasta provides delicious meal options for you and your family. SlimPasta helps create a long term solution to aid towards better health to feel better and be happy.

This product definitely grabbed my attention, particularly as it is low in calories and low carbohydrate!

The Slim Pasta has many great recipes on how to cook with Slim Pasta and I tried the Bacon, Tomato and basil spaghetti.

Here is the recipe: Ingredients (serves 2)

1 packet SlimPasta Spaghetti
4 lean rashers of short cut bacon diced
1 clove of garlic thinly sliced
¼ red onion thinly sliced
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 punnet cherry tomatoes washed and cut in quarters
basil
1. Prepare SlimPasta Spaghetti as per instructions on pack
2. Add 2 teaspoons oil and cooked garlic until softened; add diced bacon
3. Cook bacon until crispy
4. Add quartered tomatoes and toss spaghetti
5. Season with salt and pepper
6. Garnish with basil
You can also:
- Add pitted olives for extra flavour
- Substitute bacon for chicken breast

This dish turned out really nice. I also added some chicken breast and roma tomatoes diced. The Slim Pasta is very easy to prepare. The texture and taste reminds me of rice noodles, it is chewy but pleasant. Once you get use to it, it's actually quite nice. Everyone's taste is different, but it's definitely worth a try. My children like it which is great!

A great low calories, low carbohydrate alternative to pasta. The Slim Pasta is something I now cook with at least once or twice a week.
