How to avoid getting a cold in winter? Blackmores Giveaway- (CLOSED)

Winter is my favourite season, love to rug up in my scarves, boots and beanies to keep warm. I enjoy sitting in front of the heater sipping on my hot chocolate......mmmmm nice and warm.

But one thing I don't like is getting a cold or flu. I think you would all agree that no one wants to get sick - but it does happen. In our household its usually a ripple effect, the kids get a cold, then I catch it off them, then hubby and it's gone around the whole family.

I have always been diligent about taking my Blackmores Womens Vitality multivitamin everyday along with a few other vitamins that I need to take for my wellbeing.

But this winter no matter how much I tried, I got the cold. I drank a whole packet of Camomile tea with honey and lemon and I went through two packets of Soother lozenges to help get over my cold.

In winter I do try to enhance my immune system by:

1. Keeping warm - always dress warmly when going outside
2. Drink warm water/drinks - to keep my body warm
3. Wash hands - especially before eating
4. Disinfectant spray - for around the house to keep those germs away

However this winter, I needed something more to enhance my immune system. Something like Blackmores Cold & Flu Day Night or Blackmores ImmunoDefence would be excellent to help keep a cold away.

So I have started taking the Blackmores ImmunoDefence straight away to support my immune system to help keep colds and flu away. I already feel stronger physically, so hopefully no more colds for me this winter!

ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is already garnering praise for her sexy style, and her star keeps rising. The Transformers 3 actress is officially the face (and figure) of Burberry’s newest fragrance, Burberry Body — and her nearly nude body is pretty smokin’ in the new ad campaign.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley can be engaged in various jobs at the moment but there is nothing she can do better than modeling. Her photos for Thomas Wylde Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 ad campaign are totally amazing! Heavy makeup, whited-out lips and wild hair leave her almost unrecognizable to public but she definitely looks gorgeous.Thomas Wylde brand is created by British designer, former Bond Girl and Playboy model Paula Thomas, who is also a model for Alexander McQueen.
Featured here in black and white pics with dark eyeliner and nude lips she makes one hell of a statement!

What do you think about Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's new Burberry's and Thomas Wylde's campaigns?

Clean and Clear essentials self foaming facial wash review

If your looking for a cleanser to give you clean, soft skin then Clean and Clear essentials self foaming facial wash is a great one to try.

The packaging is great, compact for travel and a pump which is easy to use.

Clean and Clear say: It actively works to help prevent pimples by effectively cleaning the skin, removing surface oil, dirt and impurities. Leaves skin looking and feeling clean and clear.
Foaming Facial Cleanser works to remove dirt, oil and make-up. The rich lather is oil-free and leaves skin feeling soft and refreshed. It contains Triclosan, an ingredient that fights problem-causing bacteria

I use two pumps of this facial wash and massage it on my skin. It feels really soft and lathered on my skin which is great. It leaves my skin feeling really clean and soft. You do feel that it has removed oil, dirt and makeup, without leaving the skin feeling dry. I have combination skin and this works well to remove the excess oil I sometimes have.

My husband found this in our shower and has also been using it and really likes it. He has very oily skin and he says his skin feels really clean and not oily at all, he feels like all of the oils are removed. He also notices less pimples since using this facial wash.

I would recommend this to anyone with oily skin or who is prone to get pimples and also teenagers, as it really does help to remove excess oil and dirt from the skin. The Clean and Clear essentials self foaming facial wash retails for less than ten dollars and is available in supermarkets or department stores.

Have you tried this? What cleanser are you using at the moment?

HOT OR NOT?

These tattoo socks for women are beyond cool. I really love the design and the idea. Yes, you can have a tattoo and still be ladylike!
How do they work? Well, the design is printed in black on the front of one sock. For your money, you get one printed and one blank sock. Much like a real tattoo.

So what do you think about tattoo socks? Is it hot or not??

Dermalogica Daily microfoliant review

A few weeks ago I blogged about the Dermalogica event I attended and the FITE campaign. At the event we were given some products to try and one of them was the Dermalogica daily microfoliant.

Dermalogica says: This unique Rice-based enzyme powder microfoliates dulling debris and instantly leaves skin noticeably smoother and brighter. Contains no artificial fragrance or color.

I have been using this product for a few weeks now and it gives me good results.

The packaging is a great sturdy 75ml bottle that has a screw top that you unscrew and dispense the product in your hand. The only thing is when you are using this in the shower you need to be careful that you don't get any water near the top of this bottle as it can clog the opening.

This is a exfoliator which you can use everyday as it is gentle to the skin and suitable for all skin types. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean. My skin looks brighter and clearer.

I like using an exfoliator on my skin everyday and this is gentle and perfect for everyday use.

The way you use this is by dispensing half a teaspoon in your damp palms and then rub them together to create a paste like consistency, that you massage on your face in circular motion avoiding the eye area. You then rinse it off your face. I use this after I cleanse my face.

I would recommend this if you can't find a exfoliator that is right for your skin. Some exfoliators can be too harsh for some skin types, this would be a great gentle exfoliator to try for brighter and clearer skin.

The Dermalogica daily microfoliant 75ml retails for $83.50AUD, the bottle with daily use will last about four months or so. This is a best selling product of Dermalogica and is also a product that is part of the FITE campaign - helping women in developing countries start a business.

Have you tried any Dermalogica products? Do you use a exfoliator?

UNDERWEAR JEWELRY??

Vladimir Markin, Rusian jeweler, has created a jewelry collection inspired by underwear and made in shape of underwear pieces, like panties, boxers, bras and stockings.
The designer says his Underwear collection is for bold and interesting individuals, those who are ready to stand out of the crowd. He offers us to be creative and make a clothesline in the way we want to see it.
It is a cute and different jewelry that makes a statement. I can see a necklace like that be worn with a tank or a t-shirt and a pair of jeans or shorts. It looks like fun, summer and vacation!

So what you think about this collection? Would you wear underwear jewelry?

You can be happy, you have to choose happiness!

The one thing I'm sure you will all agree on with me is that we all want to be happy. Thats what life is about being happy, living a fulfilled life and getting the most out of life.

Yet with so many things that can happen in life, being happy can sometimes feel so far away. Whether its financial, career, or family problems these things can weigh us down. Life is not perfect and things will happen that are unexpected or not according to plan, but we need to find a way to be happy.

We need to focus on the positives and be grateful for what we have in life and be happy.

Here are a few tips that work for me to be happy:

1. Sleep - If you are constantly tired or fatigued this can affect our mood. Try and get as much sleep as you can even if it means taking a nap during the day. If you can't get a full eight hours sleep, power naps are great.
2. Music - A instant lift me up is music. Put on music you enjoy to listen to and you will see a instant change in your mood. Music is uplifting and a great way to make you happy and relaxed.
3. Clean - Literally cleaning your home, room, space - can create a happy environment. Knowing that everything is in its place where it should be will help you be more relaxed. Likewise cleaning your 'daily schedule' as such, can help to alleviate unneccessary appointments or committments that your not interested in. You can say no to certain activities or outings that you are not too keen on.
4. Be in the moment - Worrying or stressing about what may happen tomorrow is not going to help the situation. Instead try and live for this moment, enjoy your situation now.
5. Learn from your mistakes - We all make mistakes, so forgive yourself for the mistake you have done and keep on going. If you dwell on a mistake or wish it never happened, you will be stuck in that mindset and won't be able to move forward. Accept what you have done and know that you have learnt from it and will do it better next time.

Be kind to yourself - happiness is a beautiful thing to have in your life, but many times we let the negatives overtake the positives. Don't let that happen to you. There is always a way to work through things and be happy. Choose to be happy!

What do you do to be happy? What makes you happy?

SHOEDELICIOUS BALENCIAGA

Good bye platforms, hello high heels!
Balenciaga Fall 2011 featured plenty of high heels and the brand’s signature futuristic touches, the base for all of the designs was a pointed-toe, platformless pump. Like the brand’s Fall 2011 bags, the shoes from this collection fell into two categories – buckled pumps in tonal exotics on suede and zip-back ankle booties with parallel straps covering the top of the foot.
I have read some critics about this collection saying that extremely high heel + pointed-toe = trip to podiatrist:-) LOL!
Please check this sexy shoe collections out and let me know what you think about it…

Please notice the cut of the pants... Love them...

Did I mention that I want these pants too?:-)

I think this collection is bold, sexy and shoedelicious! What do you think?

Lucas Papaw Ointment review

I had a few tubes of Lucas Papaw ointment that I didn't use for a long time. But a few months ago I thought I would give it a try and now I really like it.

It comes in a 25g red tube or you can buy the 200g red tub. I prefer the tube because it is handy for your bag, car or bathroom.

The website says: Lucas Papaw Ointment has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties and may be used as a local topical application on the following.

Minor Burns, Chafing, Cuts, Gravel Rash,Minor Open Wounds, Nappy Rash, Scalds, Sunburn, Splinters and Thorns also: Temporary relief of the symptoms of dermatitis and eczema.

Papaw or Papaya we all know as a delicious fruit, but the beneficial qualities of Papaw greatly aid the skin.

Lucas Papaw Ointment is made in Australia from pure Australian papaws.

It is an antiseptic ointment with a texture that feels like thick jelly, I like it because it is not too sticky. I have used this on my kids when they have a rash, or dry skin and it works really well and quickly too. For me I use this when I have dry cuticles or dry skin on my heels/elbows and it works amazingly. My husband uses it when he has a burn or a splint and he really likes it. I have heard lots of people use it on their dry lips as well.

It has many uses and is really convenient to have in the house. It can be compared to Vaseline, however I don't really like Vaseline as it feels sticky to me. I also like the tube that the Lucas Pawpaw comes in as I don't really like products that are in a tub and avoid them if I can.

I usually buy the Lucas Papaw ointment tube from department stores or supermarket for around $5 aud.

Have you tried the Lucas Papaw ointment? Do you use a ointment that is multipurpose?
